Depth
Depth is something that all of us want, but it is hard to define. We want to go deeper, but in what and how?
We believe that true depth is found in spending time in God's Word and in prayer with Him. Depth isn't more Hebrew and Greek words. Depth is looking at God's Word and figuring out how it applies to our lives. Depth is moving past pat answers and digging in the Scriptures for what God has for us to learn and do. Depth is about giving more of our lives to God every day. Depth is about loving God with more of our hearts every day.
Depth is about loving God by shaping our lives around Him and His Word.
Community
Community is not just about a few people going to a concert or hanging out over coffee. Community is about loving people and doing life with them; all of life. Community is learning, crying, laughing, serving, and growing - but doing these things in relationships that are rooted in what really matters; Christ.
God created us for community and He created us to love other people.
Responsibility
We want to make a difference. We want to make a difference in our homes, neighborhoods, work, school, country, and in this world.
The greatest difference we can make in someone's life is to tell them about Jesus. People need Him. We have Him. He has radically changed our lives! The Bible says we are responsible to tell and show others about this radical change and how it is available to them. We want to be responsible by not counting on someone else to tell them.
We want to be responsible by loving and serving them. We want to serve our neighborhoods and this world. We want to learn together how to carry out this responsibility.
We believe sharing the love of Christ is the greatest responsibility.
Mentoring
We are not the first people to go through what we are going through. Sure, some details may be different but core issues are the same. We desire to connect with people who have more life experience than we do. This is mentoring; someone from a previous generation pouring their lives into ours, loving, helping, understanding, and even gently correcting us during life. Mentoring is a biblical idea.
We can grow by equipping people who have less life experience than we do. This is also mentoring. God has equipped us through the victories and failures during our lives, not just to teach us, but also to teach others. We know we have a lot to learn, but we also have many things we can share.
